ETHICS PROGRAM
The Rotary Club of Glenwood and Sauk Centre invited the student leaders from their respected high schools to participate in the Eagan Rotary Ethics Workshop.  Ethics is not merely a trendy buzzword. It is Rotary's belief  that ethics should be an everyday concern for each of us.  Too often, ethics is a topic raised after an ethical boundary has been crossed. For us to determine whether or not an ethical violation has occurred can be challenging, because the issues are often complex. While the two clubs are dedicating a day to discuss the implications of ethical decisions and dilemmas, we need to be reminded that ethics is not a footnote, but rather an issue that should continually be in the forefront of our minds.

The Ethics Workshop was designed to provoke thoughts and reactions on how ethics plays out in the lives of individuals, organizations and communities. Ethical challenges tend to creep into our lives and we may find ourselves on a slippery slope before we have even realized we are sliding.  The students had the opportunity to focus on an ethical dilemma; not unlike ones which they are likely to face at some time in their future.  We hope this reflection will be useful in their personal life and career development as they face making value-based decisions on the ethical dilemmas of life.
