Horizon Public Health
Ann Stehn, Administrator at Horizon Public Health, presented to the Club at the June 4th meeting (the hail storm made her presentation all the more interesting!).  Ann spoke about what Horizon Public Health does, as well as, the difference between "public health" and "medicine", with public health focusing on the general population and prevention.  Horizon provides services for elderly and disabled, children and young families, disease prevention, licensing, healthy lifestyles, and hospice.  If you'd like to learn more about Horizon Public Health, visit their site at: http://horizonpublichealth.org/

New Club Structure
As you likely know, our club structure will be seeing some changes in July, when Marin Rajdl begins her presidency.  We're moving to a format that allows us to have more service opportunities and time to connect with each other on a deeper level.  At the May 7th meeting, Marin distributed a TENTATIVE schedule for the first half of her term; this schedule can be found below.  If you have specific questions on this schedule, or have ideas for service projects, off-site meetings, or presenters, please let Marin know.

HOSTS NEEDED - Youth Exchange Program!
Are you interested in hosting an exchange student? Do you know a High School Student interested in being an exchange student for a month long program in the summer or a school year term during the school year?

We are currently looking for three host families to host our student for the 2020-2021 school year.  Exchange students typically rotate among two or three families during the year.  That means you’ll be hosting a student for about 3-5 months.  Your main responsibility is to create a welcoming family environment for your exchange student.  Youth Exchange is about sharing American culture and family life while learning about the culture and family life of the student you host.  Simply make your exchange student a part of your family. Please see the attached additional information.  Our last three students have been from Japan, Spain, and Mexico and have had wonderful experiences while attending Minnewaska Area High School. Please feel free to contact Amy Roers at 320-766-1440 for further information.

Rotary Foundation Pledge
Foundation Chair, Brianna Zuber, is kicking off a campaign for pledging to the Rotary Foundation in 2018-2019.  Our goal is to have 100% participation and every donation makes a difference!  Remember, with each $1,000 donation, you are entitled to receive a Paul Harris Fellow recognition.  Also, when you've donated your first $800 to the Foundation, our Club will match this with $200--entitling you to receive your first Paul Harris Fellow!

Brianna would like all members to complete this PLEDGE FORM and return it to her, even if you aren't able to make a contribution this year.  With questions, contact her at (612) 803-2431 or bbzuber@gmail.com
