Glenwood Rotary Club
This has been an excellent year for the Youth Exchange Program and the Glenwood Rotary Club.
Rotary Foundation
Hello Rotarians, I wanted to give everyone in our District one last reminder to give to the Rotary Foundation this year.  Our Rotary year closes June 30th so the time is short for you to get your donation in for the year.
Today I am sitting in Guatemala City watching with great sadness the horrific impact the explosion of the volcano has had on this country.  While we are not a disaster relief organization, in a place like Guatemala Rotary takes a leadership role whenever a need arises, even in these difficult situations.  It makes me proud to be member of this amazing organization.
If you have already given to the Foundation this year, thank you for your support.  If you haven't given, please do so today and remember that being a Rotarian carries with it the responsibility for Every Rotarian Every Year to give to the Rotary Foundation.  We ask that you support the Rotary Foundation in the amount of $365 per year.  If you cannot afford that, please give what you can.
Whether you have given or not, please consider an additional donation of $50 more than you gave last year to help bring our District's giving to $1 Million for the year.  I have attached a donation form for you to use or just write a check and give it to your Club Treasurer.  Thanks for all you do for Rotary and it has been my privilege to serve you and our District this year.

District Governor 2017-2018

Ecology Club
Hello Rotarians, us for the Twin Cities Rotary EcoClub Meet & Mingle at Cooper Pub & Restaurant at the West End in St. Louis Park on Tuesday June 5 at 6:30 pm.  We have reserved their large meeting room from 6pm to 8pm.  Happy hour ends at 6:30, so arrive early to place your order.  There is no registration or fee, but each person will pay for their own food and beverages.  The room has space for up to 55 people, so it would be great to have a group of Rotarians bring their energy and passion to the gathering.  This would also be a great time for you to invite others you think might be interested in joining the club.  This email is going out to the 50 Rotarians that have showed the most interest in supporting the new club, so if you could share this with your own club, that would be much appreciated.  I will not be at the event, as I will be traveling this week.  Four of the young adult leaders will be planning and leading the event, including a short program around 7pm.

Youth Exchange Updates
Our next Exchange Student is from Spain.
We are looking for host families for 2019-2020.
If you are interested or know someone who is or have a preference on a student from a certain country for that year, please contact Chad or Amy.
Do you have an Idea for a Project?
Planning for next year  Our new member, Dr. Haus attended the Grant Management Seminar (GMS) last Thursday which makes the club eligible next year to participate in Rotary’s Grant program. If you have an idea for a district or international project please contact Grant or Mary for more information.
Spring will soon be upon us and volunteers will be needed to help clear the trails for the Mountain Bike project in Barsness Park. Contact Dr. Haus  for more information.(That's our "hands-on sweat equity" for the project).  Thank you Glenwood Rotary for being “People of Action.”
Please Update Your Profile
As we move forward with our social media program and our efforts to communicate effectively in a timely manner, it is imperative that our rotary profiles are up to date. Photos, emails, current phone numbers and addresses need to be checked and updated.  Please log on to your rotary account and make sure your information is correct. Photos can be taken at club meeting or you can email Lloyd a copy of a photo. If you need assistance please contact Pam, Lloyd or come to the New Member Summit for a log in review.
